The Hurricane Terrace & Bar, located on the roof terrace of our Spa, serves an array of delicious local drinks, traditional favourites and bespoke cocktails inspired by Dorset which you can enjoy as you drink in the view of the rolling Dorset countryside. If you’re feeling peckish, a variety of snacks and small plates are available.

Our traditional handmade yurt is the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon playing board games, telling stories, reconnecting with loved ones and making new friends around the log burning stove. Our outdoor woodfired pizza oven is located right next door and is available at certain times of year, fired up by our expert chefs to provide the tastiest authentic woodfired pizza using the freshest local ingredients.

The tennis court and 3G artificial-turf Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in Beaumont Village offer the perfect spot for a quick knock-about or a fun-filled game of five-a-side football with friends and family. The spa is located right next door and the courts enjoy a beautiful view over Beaumont Lake to the East. You won’t play many tennis matches with a view like this one.

The Island, tucked away amongst the untouched foliage of the Warmwell Heathland, is a safe haven for the whole family. This hidden gem in the woods is a gorgeous secluded spot for children to run free and adults to be at one with nature. Watch your children climb, slide and zip-line through the trees whilst you read a gripping novel or take a refreshing dip in the eco-pool. When you are ready to set off again there are many bicycle routes and walking trails leading from this point but be warned, once you see this idyllic spot for yourself,  you may not want to leave.

Enjoying the great outdoors is all part of being at Silverlake. Whether enjoying the tranquillity of the waterways in a kayak or canoe, gliding effortlessly on a paddle board or cycling the pathways. A selection of our Silverlake rental properties benefit from full access to exclusive Activity Equipment for the duration of your stay, complimentary to the cost of your accommodation.

Equipment includes Premium Mountain bikes for adults and a range of children’s bikes, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes.

Onsite access to water sports equipment and bikes are only available to guests staying at properties with an ‘Activity Hub Membership’.  These properties are marked with a canoe symbol on our properties page and have details listed in the overview. At this time, casual hire of equipment is not available onsite, however guests may bring their own.

Lowland heathland is one of Britain’s most important habitats for wildlife conservation. Outer Heath SNCI (Site of Nature Conservation Interest) supports a wide range of plants, birds, insects and mammals and is a wonderful place to come wildlife spotting. Warmwell Heath in the far distance is a Special Protected Area because of the wildlife it supports. There are three different species of Heather at Silverlake, which all provide wonderful colour to Outer Heath in late summer/autumn when the lilac/purple flowers are in bloom. Many birds can be seen here including several of conservation concern such as Song thrush, Tree pipit, Green woodpecker, Linnet and Nightjar. The Nightjar may be heard churring from a nearby tree on a summer evening. These rare birds roost during the day and become active at night, feeding on night-flying insects such as moths. Look out for the Sika Deer as they graze quietly on the heath, small herds often rest in the shelter of The Hollow.

For those eager to get closer to nature, you have hundreds of acres to explore with the woodlands and hedgerows acting as home to a diverse range of native wildlife.  Scenic waterways provide plenty of opportunity for boating, while cyclists and runners can take advantage of the fresh clean air in complete safety thanks to a network of private footpaths.

Silverlake boasts four fantastic playground areas. Let the children head off on a treasure hunt round the estate while you relax with a coffee from the spa bar, while they run wild.
