Description

A spacious west-facing deck completes this property and offers the chance for al fresco dining and outside seating for six.

Nestled in a serene corner of Howells Mere where greenery and hidden pathways converge, ‘Juniper House’ is a contemporary holiday home with a Cotswold stone façade. Its position on the lake exudes a sense of seclusion that sets it apart from its neighbours, while blending both comfort and elegance.

The thoughtful layout assures a comfortable stay for up to six guests – perfect for two couples and two children or could also accommodate two couples and two friends.

And yes, while ‘Juniper House’ sits on Howells Mere 13, we’d like to point out that 13 was traditionally considered a lucky number in France and used for good luck on postcodes and charms.

Ground Floor

Step into a warm entry adorned with natural-coloured carpets, guiding you through the tastefully decorated ground floor where coastal themed and other interesting artworks grace the walls throughout. Leave your boots at the door and exhale, your Lower Mill holiday begins right here.

Immediately to your left discover the convenience of a family bathroom, with shower-over-bath and a bright, invigorating ambiance.

To the right, the twin bedroom exudes a minimalist charm, with a chest of drawers to stow your clothes away.

At the end of the hall, the king bedroom boasts a wall-mounted TV, built-in-robes, an en-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower, and plenty of cabinet space to unpack your toiletries. From the bedroom there is a glass sliding door out onto an over-water deck at the back of the property.

On this floor you will find a final bedroom with a double bed that is also complete with built-in robes, a wall-mounted TV and en-suite shower room. This room also opens out onto the deck, shared by the adjacent bedroom and features a hot tub ready for a warm lakeside soak at the end of an adventurous day on the estate.

As the property is set back a little further than its neighbours, this deck with hot tub offers the feeling of a slightly more secluded position.

First Floor

The natural carpet flows up the stairs to the first floor, where tasteful artworks and a holiday vibe continues.

Solid timber floors meet you on this level where you will find the convenience of a utility room with both a washing machine and dryer, as well as a separate WC.

The living room welcomes you with an impressive double height vaulted ceiling with full height glazed windows and doors leading to another deck with mesmerizing lake views.

Relax into the blue velvet ‘Snug’ sofas and toast yourself beside the wood burner that sits centre-stage for the colder months, while the wall-mounted air conditioner keeps you cool in the summer. Sink your toes into the plush rug and kick back to watch Sky or Netflix on the large screen TV. The living area is decorated with life-like plants, bringing the greenery in from outside and giving ‘Juniper House’ the feeling of a well-cared for and lived in home-away-from-home.

Sliding glass doors open onto the southwest facing deck with a corner wicker lounge and parasol positioned for you to maximise the view. Picture yourself unwinding with a morning coffee, enjoying the vibrant sunsets over Howells Mere, or stargazing under clear night skies – creating fortunate moments of serenity with loved ones in your lakeside retreat.

Another highlight of the deck is the complimentary electric BBQ, encouraging al fresco cooking, while just inside, a large solid wood dining table for ten guests make this first floor an entertainer’s delight.

The tasteful and well-stocked kitchen boasts white and grey tones and is adorned with culinary themed artwork and more plants. From the NEFF 5 burner gas cooktop to the integrated fridge freezer, Smeg kettle, 6-slice toaster, integrated dishwasher, oven and more, it’s a foodie’s haven matched with spectacular views.

Mezzanine Floor

Continuing up to the mezzanine level, you will discover a spacious retreat overlooking the living area and capturing the full height glass below and out over Howells Mere. The apex of the roof features glass panels that stream in natural light, or sooth you with the patter of rain.

This mezzanine space is yet to reach its full potential with ideas for a games room in the future. However presently offers a sofa and wall-mounted air conditioner to ensure an ideal climate, whether you’re unwinding with a book, or finding a relaxed space for the kids to hangout.

Embrace the luck of ‘Juniper House’ at Howells Mere 13 – with a name that symbolizes life and growth itself, you will surely be inspired by this lakeside haven where cherished holiday memories are created.

Can't really comment on the activity hub or spa as we did not use them. Ballihoo restaurant is lovely with a lively atmosphere and great food.

Bike hire was is expensive and they were old rusty bikes with broken seats. The restaurant got our order wrong every time we went in there! Even when ordering coffee.

Amazing surroundings full of perfect views. Clean and tidy with lots for us all to do. Swimming pool was great and quiet due to the time of year we went. We are coming back next year for sure
