Butterfly Sound lakeside holiday lodge is a substantial and spacious property that can accommodate up to 11. The house has a sizeable garden and terrace that traps the evening sun which is perfect for dining al fresco. 

Inside, you’ll find a vast open-plan living and kitchen area boasting a double-height atrium and south-facing views. An array of stylish and comfortable furniture adds to the contemporary feel throughout the property.

There is no direct lakeside access from the property, the nearest canoe launch point is located in Mill Village.

The property is not pet friendly but the owners reserve the right to bring a dog with them when they stay.

A spacious, modern kitchen and very well-equipped with a large fridge, dishwasher, microwave, double oven along with a Bora induction hob with cooktop extractor. There is also a separate utility room with a sink, additional fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. 

The living area at Butterfly Sound benefits from plenty of natural light from the full-height windows and doors which run across the rear of the house.

The main sitting area is centered around the wood-burning stove, perfect for colder evenings where you can relax on the sofa and enjoy some TV if you wish. 

The first floor accommodates the master bedroom with an en-suite shower room. There is a further twin bedroom which can be converted to a double (through zip-lock mechanism) should guests require, a bunk bedroom with pull-out truckle bed suitable for children only. There is also a first-floor family bathroom. (If you require with the double or truckle bed please let us know when booking.)

On the second floor, there is a further double bedroom and another twin bedroom as well as a spacious family bathroom with walk in shower. 

The ground floor opens out onto a large decked area complete with charcoal BBQ and seating for 12 on an array of different stylish garden furniture.

The master bedroom and bedroom two also benefit from a south-facing balcony with a bistro table and chairs for two.

Bath, hand, and tea towels are provided as well as bed linen, bin liners, and dishwasher tablets.

Property is self-catered. The house is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery

Spa use included but subject to availability (contact Spa directly for opening times). Pool towels can be rented from the Spa, please contact the Spa directly to arrange this. (01285 862640)

On-site restaurant and small market shop with seasonal opening hours. Availability can book up in peak weeks so contact Ballihoo prior to arrival to not miss out. (01285 840181)

Not all properties have lake access even though they are listed as lakeside. If you are unsure whether this property has lake access please check with our team.

Please be aware that the vegetation surrounding the property is subject to change according to the time of year. This may mean that the views represented in the photos above may vary depending on the season in which you stay with us.

Normal check-in is from 4 pm. Out of peak season, early check-in of 2 pm may be available (at an additional fee). Please contact our office team to enquire.

Check out during off-peak dates is by 10 am on the day of departure. During peak dates (school holidays) check out is at 9 am.

£500 refundable damage deposit is due the week before your arrival. You will be contacted regarding this.

Travel cot and highchair are available for £10, subject to availability. Please advise at the time of booking. Guests to provide their own linen and mattress for a travel cot.

There is an 11 pm noise curfew on the estate.

There are 3 electric vehicle charging points on the estate that operate on a first come first use basis.

All our properties are non-smoking.

 

Seasonal Closures

Somerford Lagoon Lake is closed from October to March due to nesting birds. The nearest canoe launch point is located near Mill Village as marked on the Estate Map.

The Somerford Nines (Clearwater 1-9). The private outdoor pool closes after the October half term and does not re-open until Easter.

The outdoor Mill Village pool closes after the October half term and does not re-open until Easter.

The Miss Mouse Trail, run by the activity hub closes for the winter months. This is from 1st November to the Easter holidays.

Finding your Property
When you arrive at the main gates at Lower Mill where the security hut is, please follow the road over the bridge around to the left past a visitor car park on your left-hand side.

You will come to a four-way crossroads where you will turn right and go over the next bridge. Just after the bridge, there is a turning to the right, ignore this turning and carry on straight through an area where you will see houses and parking on either side of the road. After the houses and parking spots, you will reach an area where there are two long sheds lining either side of the road. Go past these sheds and there will be a few further houses on your left-hand side. Just after these houses, you will see a turning on your left-hand side that leads into a small car park. Your property, Butterfly Sound, and its car parking spot are the first on the right-hand side of this car park.
