Welcome to Lake Lodge – a detached 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom holiday home, enhanced with a new a chillout / games room, that seamlessly blends with the south-facing overwater deck and inviting hot tub.   

Perched along the edge of Howells Mere, this popular property beckons with a magnetic allure, welcoming not just a break away, but an immersive place to gather family and friends throughout all seasons.  

Sleeping up to 8 guests, this property is ideal to accommodate two couples and four children, or two couples and four friends.  

As you step into the realm of Lake Lodge, the adventure begins at the very entrance. Imagine a wall adorned with bike racks, whispering tales of lakeside exploration, and at the doorstep, boot racks stand ready, guiding you into a world of lakeside living.

Ground Floor 
The journey unfolds on the ground floor entering through the boot room, a sanctuary of minimalist organization, inviting you to shed the cares of the outside world.  

Beyond the boot room you will find ‘The Den’, a vibrant convergence of recreation and relaxation. Feel the pulse quicken as you play a match on the full-size football table, bask in natural light on the comfy sofa, and close the curtains to relax with a touch of entertainment on the wall mounted TV.  

Adjacent to ‘The Den’, discover a sunlit king bedroom, an oasis of tranquility with built-in robes and a glass sliding door opening onto a large over-water deck. Here, in this corner of the lake, an outdoor lounge suite, sunlounge, and hot tub create an idyllic setting for relaxation under in the sunshine by day, and moonlight evenings under the stars. Tall reeds provide a seasonal veil between the neighbouring properties, offering some added seclusion and connection with nature.  

First Floor
Tasteful prints adorn white walls throughout the property, creating an ambiance of holiday vibes and modern freshness. Venture up to the first floor, to discover a twin bedroom to the left with dual aspect windows and a standalone wardrobe, while the right hosts a sun-drenched second twin bedroom with a glass sliding door leading to the first-floor deck.  

Further delights await at the back of this floor, where a king bedroom shares the first-floor veranda. Featuring its own ensuite shower room, built-in-robes and a glass sliding door joining the intimate outdoor extension of the first floor where morning brews and breathtaking lake views can be enjoyed.

Second Floor 
Climb to the pinnacle of Lake Lodge on the second floor, where a scenic bird’s eye view of Howells Mere awaits. An open-plan lounge with wall mounted TV, dining table for eight, and kitchen area seamlessly connect, creating an ideal space for unforgettable gatherings. Engage in games and puzzles tucked away under the coffee table and in a dedicated bookcase, ensuring endless entertainment even if the weather takes a turn.  

Through dual glass sliding doors, step out onto the sun-drenched veranda where another table for eight and coal BBQ inspire relaxed evenings under the stars.  

Back inside, the practical kitchen has ample bench space and a breakfast bar with two stools. Fully equipped, stocked and ready to entertain, the kitchen features an integrated fridge freezer, all-in-one washer dryer, single over with separate grill, induction hob, microwave and a Krups Nespresso machine.  

As you relax into Lake Lodge, it becomes more than just a holiday retreat – it transforms into your personal sanctuary, launch pad for adventure, and timeless memories. Each detail, from the modern décor to the lakeside vistas, paints a picture of a holiday that transcends the ordinary, inviting you to return again and again.

As we take pride in prepping the hot tub for each guest stay the water may not be up to temperature by the time you arrive on site, but rest assured, that the water will be blissfully warm and enjoyable for your second night with us. 

Property is self-catered. The house is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery

Not all properties have direct lake access even though they are listed as lakeside. If you are unsure whether this property has lake access please check with our team.

Please be aware that the vegetation surrounding the property is subject to change according to the time of year. This may mean that the views represented in the photos above may vary depending on the season in which you stay with us.

Normal check-in is from 4 pm. Out of peak season, early check-in of 2 pm may be available (at an additional fee). Please contact our office team to enquire.

Check out during off-peak dates is by 10 am on the day of departure. During peak dates (school holidays) check out is at 9 am.

£500 refundable damage deposit is due the week before your arrival. You will be contacted regarding this.

Travel cot and highchair are available for £10, subject to availability. Please advise at the time of booking. Guests to provide their own linen and mattress for the travel cot.

There is an 11 pm noise curfew on the estate.

Habitat Escapes does not accept bookings for hen or stag parties.

There are 3 electric vehicle charging points on the estate that operate on a first come first use basis.

All our properties are non-smoking.

 

Seasonal Closures

Somerford Lagoon Lake is closed from October to March due to nesting birds. The nearest canoe launch point is located near Mill Village as marked on the Estate Map.

The Somerford Nines (Clearwater 1-9). The private outdoor pool closes after the October half term and does not re-open until Easter.

The Miss Mouse Trail, run by the activity hub closes for the winter months. This is from 1st November to the Easter holidays.

Finding your Property
From the Main Entrance where the security hut is positioned, drive through the gate and bear left, drive through the car park ahead, and exit right when you get to a four-way crossroads for Clearwater and Howells Mere properties.

Continue forward over the bridge taking the immediate right towards Howells Mere and Clearwater properties. Continue along this road and you will get to a point where the road splits off either left or right. Bear left and continue along the road passing the Spa and Tennis courts on your right and houses on your left. At the end of this road, you will see a bridge in front of you. Cross over this bridge into Howell's Mere and take the immediate left turning. The parking spot is immediately on your left-hand side labeled with the number 10. Your property is the eighth property on the right-hand side. 

To assist you during darker evenings, you would be advised to bring a torch with you as there is no street lighting permitted on the Estate other than low-level lighting.
