Christmas is a magical time of year and at Lower Mill Estate, The Cotswolds, we’ve got your festive escape all wrapped up. Sit back, relax and enjoy making memories with loved ones. Spend your days exploring the chocolate-box villages of the Cotswolds or embrace the acres of nature reserve surrounding the Estate. Cosy up in front of a roaring log fire for an afternoon of board games and festive films.
With our range of festive drinks and cocktails at Ballihoo, you can start your celebrations early! Choose from a frosty Christmas Negroni; made with Reverend gin, Vermouth and Campari, a delicious Mulled Wine, or a soothing Hot Chocolate topped with all the trimmings. We’ve even got a deliciously festive-themed pizza for you to tuck into; our ‘Deck the Halls’ festive special. Topped with wood-roasted brussel sprouts, Cotswold cured ham, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan, red onion, fresh sage and lemon – it’s sure to be a hit with everyone!
If you’re looking for an afternoon of fun for you and your little ones, Ballihoo will be hosting a gingerbread decorating workshop* on Tuesday 20th December. Our kits include everything you need to get creative, with hand-baked gingerbread pieces, icing, sweets and treats. For the adults, there’ll be plenty of mulled wine and mince pies to keep you going. Don’t worry if you can’t join us for the afternoon; you can pop into Ballihoo and purchase a kit to decorate at home.
Catch a breath of fresh air on a 'Winter Welly Walk' hosted by the Activity Hub. This family-friendly walk will take you through the beautiful nature reserve surrounding Lower Mill Estate. There’s even a halfway stop for roasting marshmallows over a fire before finishing off with a mug of hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. We’re also hosting an exciting range of nature crafting sessions for your little ones to learn more about nature at the estate.
Come and join us for a unique, outdoor Christmas Carol concert on Thursday, 22nd December. Carols start at 1800 and run until 2000, so wrap up warm and join us to welcome Highworth Silver Band for a traditional, festive sing-along. Keep toasty by the fire pit and enjoy a roasted, baked potato with a glass of mulled wine or Ballihoo’s delicious hot chocolate.
Not forgetting the main event itself, Ballihoo has its ever-popular Christmas Lunch kits available for pre-order. Meat is sourced from the prestigious Jesse Smiths based locally in Cirencester, who pride themselves on sourcing premium livestock from local farms, accompanied by a selection of delicious ready-to-roast vegetables. Use the pre-order form to order your premium range of meat and all the trimmings for you and your guests and we’ll do the rest. Pre-orders close on Friday, 16th December, so be quick.

Please be aware that the Gingerbread event is limited to 40 participants and pre-booking is essential. Tickets are £15 per person; one kit will be provided per ticket.
Carol concert - Food will be £14 per adult and £7 per child under eight years old, payable on the day at Ballihoo. Price includes a fire-roasted baked potato topped with a choice of topping: chilli, vegan 5-bean chilli or cheese and beans with a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate. Please book your ticket in advance.
