Multigenerational Holidays with Habitat Escapes

...

Whether you are planning a Dorset holiday at Silverlake Estate or a Cotswolds holiday at Lower Mill Estate, at Habitat Escapes we’ve made sure there’s something for the whole family.

Not only will you find activities for all ages and activity levels, but we’ve taken care of the practicalities too. From choosing locations for our estates that are close enough to all the main attractions to featuring restaurants that are suitable for all the family, even your four-legged friend, not to mention properties designed to be spacious enough for the whole family to spend quality time together in, we have everything you need for a memorable multigenerational holiday.

Get everyone together under one roof

Getting away with grandparents and kids in tow can mean striking a fine balance when it comes to finding the right accommodation. Little ones need space to nap, teens need room to spread out and the grown-ups might just need somewhere to escape! Habitat Escapes accommodation is a home away from home. You’ll find all those family needs taken care of, from living areas that can fit the whole tribe to the little but important bits like travel cots, highchairs and stair gates.

An open-plan living area and dining room

Each Habitat Escapes luxury estate has houses of varying sizes to choose from and with accommodation for anything from four to 12 people, many with private outdoor spaces too, there’s room for the whole family plus friends to join you.

Family feasts

Habitat Escapes properties are entirely self-catering, making it easy to cater for a variety of appetites. Add some novelty to your pre-holiday supermarket shop by enlisting little helpers to choose some special holiday treats or ask grandparents to rustle up that one speciality dish that never fails to bring everyone together. For added convenience, you can even arrange for your food delivery to be delivered to your Habitat Escapes holiday home.

Eating out as a family on a Habitat Escapes holiday is effortless too. Lower Mill Estate serves a seasonal field-to-fork menu at its family-friendly restaurant, Ballihoo, while Silverlake Estate’s Hurricane Terrace dishes up light bites with a glorious view of the Dorset countryside. For those post-beach afternoons when something tasty yet easy is top of the agenda, each estate has its very own Pizza Shack. Get your pizzas to go and let everyone tuck in back at the house.

Multigenerational holidays tend to coincide with big family celebrations like milestone birthdays or anniversaries, but that needn’t mean rounding up the troops for special meals out. Both Habitat Escapes estates offer exclusive dining experiences that are perfect for toasting such special occasions and best of all, you needn’t even leave the house.

Lower Mill Estate offers a luxurious private dining package, with a bespoke three-course meal served in the comfort of your holiday home from just £30pp. A similar service is available at Silverlake too, with private dining dished up by the award-winning Manna Kitchen

Activities for all ages

The beauty of such sprawling countryside estates is that nature brings with it a plethora of family-friendly activities in the great outdoors. It can be difficult to cover all bases when you’re planning ways to keep large groups entertained, but they will be spoilt for choice at both Habitat Escapes estates.

A family out on a bike ride around Silverlake

Bike hire is available year-round and there are options to suit all, from the long distance pedaller to fans of a more meandering route. Each estate has miles of trails for exploring on two wheels or two legs, and with dogs welcome too the whole family can get involved. There are also plenty of brilliant bike rides for all abilities in both Dorset and the Cotswolds to explore.

Both estates have plenty of family-friendly activities to keep really little ones entertained during a stay. Soft play always goes down well and Lower Mill Estate has its own nature-themed soft play area full of foamy obstacles, plus comfy seating for mums and dads (or babysitting grandparents!).

If you’d rather head outdoors, the Miss Mouse Trail takes little legs on a treasure trail around the estate. Silverlake Estate has its own Dormouse Trail equivalent, with characters from the series hidden around the grounds for the finding. Another popular Silverlake spot is the Yurt. With board games, a wood-burning stove and a location right beside the Pizza Shack, the teens in your group will love it.

Quiet moments and me time

Multigenerational holidays are a chance to make amazing memories, but don’t forget to carve some space amidst the fun for some well-deserved ‘me time’. The Spa at Lower Mill Estate and the Hurricane Spa at Silverlake are nirvanas of blissful relaxation. Take advantage of having grandparents around and enjoy a few hours just the two of you, or escape with nobody and nothing more than your holiday read for company. Bliss!
