Overview

Lamplight Island is one of only a handful of properties on the Estate to have been built on its own island, as the name suggests! The property is accessed via a small footbridge, located in an enviable position benefitting from a westerly facing aspect over the lake. Built over two floors the property comprises spacious ground floor open plan kitchen, dining & living areas with glazed side & rear elevations and takes full advantage of the lake views thus providing light and airy accommodation and wooden floors throughout. Access to the ground floor decking with BBQ and outdoor seating arrangements. To the first floor can be found a spacious master en-suite bedroom with a balcony,  further en-suite bunk/toddlers bedroom, king bedroom as well as a high sleeper double bedroom.  There is also a family shower room.

The house has recently been repainted and offers stylish interiors throughout, complemented by a feature wood-burning stove to the living area, well-appointed kitchen and oak flooring throughout. Accommodating 8 to 12 guests in total.

Kitchen – Contemporary white gloss units gives this kitchen a sleek and modern feel, well designed to include ample wall and base cupboard units to include large Miele oven, 5  hob gas, dishwasher, tall fridge/freezer & built-in combination microwave. Island unit providing preparation area with cupboard below including Miele wine fridge. Fully equipped to accommodate 8-12 guests.

Dining Area – Dining table & chairs dining 8, access to the balcony.

Living Area – Fully glazed side & rear elevations enjoy stunning views across Howells Mere Lake to the rear, access on to the balcony with seating. Spacious area providing 3 seater, 2 love seats and 2 armchairs. Coffee table and feature wood-burning stove, TV with a selection of DVD’s . Round table for games.

Master Super King Bedroom – with large balcony. Spacious bedroom with vaulted ceiling, built-in wardrobe, bedside cabinets & lamps. Curtains & Blinds, door to balcony with views across the Lake. Door to:

En-Suite Bathroom – With handheld shower attachment for showers, WC, wash hand basin.

En-Suite Bunk Bedroom – Bunk bed with sliding truckle bed plus separate child/toddler bed, built-in wardrobe This room can accommodate up to 4 children. Door to:

En-Suite Bathroom – Bath with handheld shower attachment for showers, WC & basin. Fully tiled.

Lakeside King Bedroom – with small balcony, built in cupboard, bedside cabinets, door to balcony with lake views.

Double Bunk Bed High sleeper – Double high sleeper bed with double bed underneath. High sleeper only suitable for older children. Can accommodate 4 guests. Built-in cupboard.

Family Shower Room – Corner shower cubicle, wc, basin. Fully tiled.

Ground Floor Waterside Balcony – Fully enclosed with outdoor table seating 8-10, Gas Weber BBQ.

Bath, hand and tea towels provided as well as bed linen, bin liners and dishwasher tablets.

Property is self-catered. The house is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery

Spa use included (contact Spa directly for opening times). Pool towels can be rented from the Spa, please contact the Spa directly to arrange this. (01285 862640)

On-site restaurant and small market shop with seasonal opening hours. Availability can book up in peak weeks so contact Ballihoo prior to arrival to not miss out. (01285 840181)

Not all properties have direct lake access even though they are listed as lakeside. If you are unsure on whether this property has lake access please check with our team.

Please be aware that the vegetation surrounding the property is subject to change according to the time of year. This may mean that the views represented in the photos above may vary depending on the season in which you stay with us.

Normal check-in is from 4pm. Out of peak season early check-in of 2pm may be available (at an additional fee). Please contact our office team to enquire.

£500 refundable damage deposit is due the week before your arrival. You will be contacted regarding this.

Travel cot and highchair available for £10, subject to availability. Please advise at time of booking. Guests to provide own linen and mattress for travel cot.

There is an 11pm noise curfew on the estate.

There are 3 electric vehicle charging points on the estate that operate on a first come first use basis.

All our properties are non-smoking.

 

Seasonal Closures

Somerford Lagoon Lake is closed from October – March due to nesting birds. The nearest canoe launch point is located near to Mill Village as marked on the Estate Map.

The Somerford Nines (Clearwater 1-9). The private outdoor pool closes after the October half term and does not re-open until Easter.

The outdoor Mill Village pool closes after the October half term and does not re-open until Easter.

The Miss Mouse Trail, run by the activity hub closes for the winter months. This is from 1st November to the Easter holidays.
